Family Farm Program

"More than 820 million people live in chronic hunger and more than 1 billion live on less than $1 a day. Many are small farmers in the developing world. Improvements in agriculture help people in poverty improve their lives. When small farmers are able to get more out of their land and labor, their families eat better, earn more money, and lead healthier lives." - The Gates Foundation

For humanitarian organizations seeking to decrease world hunger, it is essential to support small family farms in the developing world. Lack of tools, quality seeds, and irrigation equipment prevent these farmers from feeding their families and their communities. To help support these farmers and the humanitarian organizations that serve them, IMEC has created the Family Farm Program.

IMEC’s Family Farm Program provides small farmers with tools to clear and maintain their farmland, to dig and plant and irrigate their crops, and enough seeds to grow a half-acre of crops. With this equipment, the farmer’s family can now be supplied with both the food they so desperately need, and enough to bring to market to support their community, for years to come.

IMEC is now applying our 15 years of experience in assembling and delivering health care departments to help governments and humanitarian organizations in supporting agriculture as well as health care in the communities they serve.
