IMEC Programs

Programs

IMEC provides equipment solutions for health care, agriculture, and education projects in developing countries.

IMEC’s mission is to transform impoverished communities. We achieve this mission by providing the equipment, tools and supplies needed to advance the medical, agricultural and educational services in communities in the developing world.

At the core of our work is the IMEC Suite. Each Suite contains all of the equipment, tools and supplies needed to operate a service or department, such as a hospital exam room, a small family farm, or a classroom.  For example: an Exam Room Suite contains all materials needed a doctor needs to operate an exam room; a Family Farm Suite provides a local farmer with the tools he or she needs to set up and run a small farm; and a Classroom Suites provides the desks, chairs, chalkboards and other materials a teacher needs to create a classroom for his or her students.

The IMEC Suite concept ensures that the recipients have everything they need to serve the poor in that service or department. The materials for each Suite are carefully prepared and packed at IMEC’s distribution center in the United States and shipped directly to the receiving facility. When the Suites arrive at their destination, staff and volunteers unpack the Suites room-by-room and begin using the new equipment the same day.
