Our volunteers bring an accumulation of skills and knowledge to IMEC, and their generous donation of time, effort, and expertise allow us to carry out all aspects of our mission.
It takes over 175 volunteers to complete each project. IMEC volunteers are at the core of our work: among other important jobs, they build IMEC Suites, coordinate projects, source materials and donations and travel to our project sites to do assessments.
Our volunteers come from many different places. Some work with IMEC through corporate and large group volunteer programs, while many others are individuals who share a desire to serve the poor and help the planet.
Large Group Volunteering
Our large group Volunteer Program welcomes student groups from Boston-area universities, corporate professionals from a wide variety of industries, and faith-based groups who come together for service days. Large group volunteer sessions provide a fun team-building activity while accomplishing important humanitarian work. Our large group volunteers build Suites that are soon shipped to a receiving facility. The next person to handle the Suite is a doctor, teacher or farmer in another country who is overjoyed not only by the materials received, but also by the care and respect shown to them through the hard work of our volunteers.
We have many volunteer positions open for people who share our mission. If you would like to becoming an IMEC volunteer or joining our large group volunteer program, we would love to tell you more. Please call us at (978) 557-5510 or e-mail us at volunteer@imecamerica.org.
